    Thank you for your feedback and rating of Campingland Surgery. I am sorry that the impacts of working under the Covid restrictions appeared to have impacted you. We were still seeing patients face-to-face all the way through the pandemic where there was a clear clinical need but were also working under the remit from NHS England/Improvement that, given the very serious implications for vulnerable patients, we should bring as few patients into the surgery as possible. I stress that, unlike some Norfolk practices, we are not an ‘online only’ practice, dealing with approximately 220-250 inbound calls from our patients each day. We are happy to accept contact from our patients in whatever form suits them best (albeit, we have not set up a TikTok page as yet!) I would absolutely agree that not everybody can use a computer, which is why we at Campingland have not followed some other surgeries in Norfolk in making access primarily via the available online services. We deal with approximately 220-250 incoming calls into the surgery per day and run with a team of up to 3 receptionists answering those calls. As covered elsewhere on this forum, we have a large team of specialists in the practice who deal with many of the patient needs that a general practitioner dealt with in years gone by. This is not so much an ‘erosion of rights’ but working to NHS England’s teamworking ethos and employing specialists to deal with ever-more complex patient needs. Ian Wilson Practice Manager

    Thank you for your feedback and the 5-star rating of Campingland Surgery. What a great endorsement of the surgery; 55 years as a patient - Thank you! I think you have more robustness than the surgery building (built about the time you became a patient), which we know is looking somewhat tired and dated. Hopefully, some investment from the commissioning bodies in the premises is not too far off, but time will tell! Ian Wilson Practice Manager

    Thank you for your feedback on the service we provide. I am really sorry to hear that you have found some instances where staff have appeared rude. I am sure that was not their intent, but please accept my apologies for your experience. Like many businesses we have struggled with Covid absences in the last 6 months – we have seen more Covid-positive staff off since January than at any other time in the pandemic; this still continues with some positive test results even into May(all NHS staff are still testing, and if they return a positive test result have to be absent from work for at least 6 days). Unfortunately, this has meant that some appointments have had to be re-jigged to a later date, but I am sorry that this contact was not handled in the very best way possible.     Thank you for your feedback and also for the 5-star rating. We do embrace the modern NHS ethos of teamworking, so the fact that you do not see a Doctor means that your medical needs are not best dealt with by a general practitioner, but by one of the specialist team working at the surgery. The clinical team here includes Paramedics, a Clinical Pharmacist, a Physio, Social Prescribers, Care Coordinators, Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses and Healthcare Assistants, all working to meet the diverse needs of our patients. Even so, the Doctors here do work incredibly long hours to cover the needs of those patients who do need to see a Doctor for their care. I hope this helps explain NHS teamworking as it is in 2022.
