Original Feedback for The Queen Elizabeth Hospital:

4

On the whole very good, nursing staff are brilliant.

Some departments not talking to each other as well as they could, leading to delays. Staff shortages leading to some issues with care. The patient was admitted to Denver Ward, feedback was taken in the Discharge Lounge. He was admitted 6/6 and spent 11 days in hospital. The nurses are fantastic, really proactive, but you can see they are understaffed and overwhelmed at times. On one occasion his cannula needed to be changed but no one picked up on it, leading to discomfort and swelling in his hand and arm. However, apart from this his care has been very good and the process to moving to the discharge lounge was very smooth. The patient did remark that the DL is now some distance from the main part of the hospital, though this didn't cause any issues for him.
