I am so impressed at how quickly they have acted. I only brought something up at a medical review, which then set off a full examination and I was sent for blood tests then up to the hospital really quickly.
I fine Dr Blenk to be professional, clear and gets straight to the point which I like , she is really on it, she even offered me a chaperone during my examination.
The receptionists are all efficient too.

The reception team are really friendly and I always get an appointment when I need one. I've been coming to this surgery for years and I've not really had any problems. The waiting on the phone can be an issue and it can be quicker to come here to make an appointment.

We are looking at our current access issues and will be addressing these over the summer to ensure our patients can get through to us as soon as possible.

I don't come often enough to have a complete picture as I have been abroad, but whenever I have used it, it's always been okay. I came in today about my Covid jab but they don't do them here so I have to go to castle quarter.

The doctor was very good

The doctor was very good, very polite. It was easy to book in on the screen. I did have to wait a long time on the phone to book the appointment though. I was also irritated by people using their phones in the waiting area and I think they should not be allowed to do so. They were too loud. The parking is not always easy. I've had to park in a disabled spot before which is definitely not right.

General enquiry

I just want to ask when I last had a NHS Health check, but the Website says it's closed so I can't even submit a question. This is a constant issue.

Thank you for your comment and we apologise for any inconvenience. You can submit a question to our Reception team via the website. Please go to \'General Enquiries\' tab, and then select \'Ask a Receptionist a Question\'. The Practice team will be happy to check the date of your last NHS Health check.
In general terms the NHS Health check is available once every 5 years, to all those aged between 40 to 74 who do not have any pre-existing conditions, such as heart disease, diabetes, chronic kidney disease. I do hope this is helpful and that you are now able to submit your query. If you prefer, please telephone the reception team on 01603 425989. Thank you.
I want to book an appointment (not urgent)

The website is telling me to come back tomorrow morning between 8-11am. Why can't I put the request in now? It doesn't need to be read till tomorrow. Seems like a simple fix that makes it easier for us to access our GP.
I want to commend and thank all the staff at Woodcock Road Surgery for their kind and prompt responses to any request for help. Of particular note is Dr Shinn, who has cared for me since the traumatic birth of my daughter, almost 4 years ago. Her kindness, knowledge and sense of humour have been essential in recent years. A finer Dr you couldn't wish for.
I filled in the inline form and a doctor called me back the same day and arranged an appointment two days later with the on site physio. Excellent service.
Dreadful experience of trying to get an appt. I phoned 2 weeks ago and was told someone would phone me back later that day. That did not happen. I’ve tried to message practice but this service has closed and after speaking to receptionist they can’t make an appt today, they can’t receive an online message and I can’t make a future appt. They will accept letters so there you go with your fully digital nonsense.
I called the surgery after my mother was diagnosed with DVT, around 2pm. I then kept chasing said request and as footfall (their website was closed) many receptionists assured me that they put through an urgent request to the doctor as mum needed to URGENTLY be advised whether to continue a medication or not. I chased this repeatedly and after chasing the last time at 1755 the receptionist claimed to sent a message to the doctor re this. The doctor replied and said she had spoken to the patient. (I was not with her unfortunately so did not know the outcome until the call was terminated and I called her) mum told me she forgot to ask about the medication and the doctor didn't even mention it (mum is forgetful) despite me specifying many times that the request was regarding the medication. I was unable to call the surgery back as the lines go off at 1800. Now mum is unsure on whether to take this important medication alongside the new ones for the DVT. This is disgusting as I had been chasing this all afternoon and now she is at risk of either taking a medication which could be harmful or missing an important dose of important medication. I am beyond disappointed and upset.
