Spoken with Tom
Tom was great, chatty, and giving lots of sensible information. I have just received his e mail, and getting a copy in the post. So now need to read it and take appropriate action. Thank you Tom.
  • Carers Matter Norfolk (Norfolk)

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. It is great to hear that Tom was helpful on the phone and that he has followed it up with an email and you will be sent a copy in the post as as well. We know that receiving information on a telephone call can be overwhelming as there's lots to take in, so you will be able to read the email or hard copy at your convenience.

very helpful
Laura called me today as i have been looking after my husband for a year without any help at all. she talked with me and totally understood how i am feeling both emotionally and physically. her call wasnt hurried, she offered lots of things that i could try and people who could help in different aspects of caring..ie/financial, self care, respite etc. i thoroughly recommend getting in touch with social services if you are feeling that you cannot cope as an unpaid carer they will contact carers ... matter norfolk. or you can contact them directly. im so glad i did. than ks Laura

Superb
I spoke to Karen about the difficulties I was facing as a carer. Karen was so kind, understanding, and also took action. She gave me hope that I was not alone. I am so grateful. Carers have an exceptionally difficult life - emotionally, psychologically, and financially. We truly need more recognition and it is something that I am prepared to fight for when I am able. I am so utterly grateful to Karen. Thank you
  • Carers Matter Norfolk (Norfolk)

Thank you for taking your time to review your call with Karen. Karen will be happy to know that you benefitted from your conversation. You are certainly not on your own in your caring journey - we are here to help along with other organisations that support carers. Please do contact us again if you need further support.

Support and Help
I have a mum with Dementia and Alzheimer’s, some days are very challenging, Carers Matters Norfolk are not only at the end of the phone but have helped and supported me, I can not thank them enough, and all staff I have dealt with have been understanding, helpful, supportive which I really appreciate as some days can be hard, but knowing they can help and put me in the right direction to help I need, makes it easier.

Outstanding Support
I am just entering my 2nd year of support from the Norfolk branch, due to my Mum having Alzheimer’s, my son being Autistic and myself being disabled. Karen called me just at the right time for my yearly update, when I’m struggling with the present load of stress, responsibility and physical strain. Karen’s support, suggestions and taking 2 jobs off my hands and doing a referral to Social Services herself for my Mum, resulting in a call the next day from them which never happens when I call ... .
Karen is very caring, helpful and a great listener, has made a particularly bad week much better.
  • Carers Matter Norfolk (Norfolk)

Caring for someone can be challenging let alone caring for two people and having a disability yourself. It sounds like Karen's call came at just the right moment and we are delighted to know she helped ease the burden on you at an especially difficult time by getting Social Services to call you. Please do contact us if you feel you are struggling, or need any further help or support.

Dreadful
A very lowering experience. I actually came away feeling like a nuisance. If I felt forgotten and isolated before I do even more after speaking to this organisation.
  • Carers Matter Norfolk (Norfolk)

Excellent support from both Tom and Laura
Both Tom, originally and Laura as a follow up to see how I was getting on have given me excellent support and advice for both matters of finance and health. Through Tom I have been able to access the financial support I needed and Laura has secured me a grant to purchase an exercise machine to use at home to improve my health as I have been unable to get to the classes. I am so grateful to them and and to the carers matter team and organisation. I have really felt listened to with care and my ne ... eds understood without feeling rushed which made all the difference as it can be hard to ask for help when you are used to being the one giving care. I am also very thankful for their supporting workers at the Citizens Advice Bureau who were also attentive and patient and would also like to thank the Norfolk Millenium Trust.
  • Carers Matter Norfolk (Norfolk)

We are so pleased to hear that you have felt listened to and supported. It's great that you have received this grant too. We are very happy to know we have been of help.
