Awful - no prescription-pharmacist absent!
I now use this pharmacy for convenience but today's experience was anything but convenient unfortunately, which is rare for this practice but after waiting for the local P.O.

D. Ordering service to finally pass the order over to the pharmacy, I went in at around 5.

40 pm and found that the counter pharmacy assistants refused to dispense my prescription as there was no pharmacist on site due to her having to go home early as she was unwell. Unfortunately I had no more insulin left (I am a type
... 2 diabetic but insulin dependent) and the staff advised me they could not dispense this until the morning but as I work full-time this is inconvenient and I cannot collect my items in the morning.

One question remains - how do the staff actually know if the pharmacist will be available on Wednesday if she had to go home unwell today? WIll she return? I have been impressed with this pharmacy until now but this is a little inconvenient especially as the POD service is so archaic and long-winded that it takes an inordinate amount of time for the prescription to be dispensed from the point of ordering and collecting it , so much so I had run out of Humulin 3 Kwikpens! I therefore had some metformin tablets and rather than go to the hospital which the staff in the pharmacy agreed would be the best way to deal with my situation, (only a 4 hour queue in A and E!) I have had to use metformin tablets and double up the dosage which is not particularly ideal as it means I will be short on the next month's tablets as they only dispense 28 days' worth, not 30 or 31 days as per the number of days in a normal month. It is all so frustrating as normally this would have been dealt with.

I moved pharmacies for dispensing my medications to use what I considered to be a more helpful and caring practice. Maybe I was wrong in my judgements.
