Excellent service
This morning I brought my Mother into Accident and emergency following a fall and elevated blood pressure. We were quickly processed via triage and seen by a really lovely Doctor (Dr David Ling) who spent time accessing her and explained her symptoms which really alleviated all concerns. She felt valued as a patient and I also felt reassured as her daughter. It was such a positive experience, for both of us, that I felt that I had to feedback the experience, working as a Health Care Professiona ... l myself. Thank you for all involved in her care.

Couldn't fault them they were brilliant.
Brilliant group, had to have my finger amputated. I was straight in for an x-ray and I had the operation the same day. They were a really great group and they made you feel like you know them all, I was able to have a laugh with them. Couldn't fault them they were brilliant.

Overdue check-up
I'm overdue my check-up after having injections in my eyes six months ago. I can't get through on the phone or leave a voicemail. It's not their fault, there's too many people, but they're a bit slow.

Awful anaesthetic experience in the day care surgery unit
Had to have surgery for breast cancer as a day case . The whole experience was awful but the anaesthetic experience was particularly dangerous. The anaesthetist whose name I was never given made multiple attempts to cannulate - my veins are easy to cannulate . He then rammed a mask on my face and I remember thinking would I wake you. I did but was left with a broken good tooth which I had to have crowned and a black sore arm and very sore throat. I have written a formal complaint My aim ... being to protect other patients from this person. NNUH have not responded and moving their deadlines for response forward. Patients beware NNUH do not care!

I was supported
I had planned a home birth and wasn't expecting any complications as I'd given birth previously. However things changed and I had to go in for an emergency C-section. I felt like I had all the choices given to me beforehand, all the information, and the time to make a choice. I felt supported. I had really good care and they acted quickly. I was very poorly afterwards and was well looked after.

I'm so thankful
I had an emergency C-section and my baby wasn't breathing when she was born. She went to NICU for a day but then was back down with me. The nurses would look after her for a few hours so I could rest, they were really kind and told me not to feel guilty. I'm so thankful to them.
I had to go back in a few days after going home as I was bleeding heavily. I ended up in there multiple times and they were always so helpful.
We had some appointments for my baby afterwards so they could check up on
... her and she's doing really well now.

No appointment information
My baby was referred to dermatology from maternity services on a standard 18 week pathway but he wasn't seen until 6 months later. We struggled to chase it up because there was no information on the app and the GP also couldn't see where things were at. I called and ended up chasing round, speaking to three different people as I wasn't given a direct number.
The appointment itself was fine, it was more a case of giving us information about everything.

Test not age appropriate
My 2-year old was referred for a hearing test and it only took a month to come through. However the actual test wasn't really age appropriate, they were asking him questions he wouldn't have known the answer to anyway. The noises were quite startling for him too. I was in the room but they asked him to sit on a chair by himself and he struggled with that. The expectation of what they wanted him to do wasn't quite met by what he's capable of. The person doing the test did change what she was aski ... ng after quite some time when she saw he was struggling.

Knowledgeable and efficient
I was seen by dermatology within two weeks from a GP referral. The clinician was immediately able to tell me which bits were not of concern and which needed further investigation. I was sent for photography there and then which was much better than having to come in again. I felt reassured and well supported.

Shambolic and negligent
Reviewing on behalf of a friend:
Rushed in to hospital with possible sepsis. The hospital tried to deal with the source of infection with antibiotics. After 2-3 weeks said that scans showed a reduction so should avoid need for surgery. Unfortunately, they were someone else's scans. Rushed into surgery. Came out with a stoma bag.
Wound nor bag changed or checked for days then obviously infected. Sent home and told to stay home but apparently their area isn't covered for daily wound dressing and
... injections so had to self administer injections and go to local GP surgery for dressings. Told to attend James Pagett for weekly check ups even though N&N closer.
Anyway, wound burst open and needed a vac suction for infection removal so back to N&N. Sent home again, then back in again.....
Too many issues to write here.
How this patient has survived this far is miraculous but safe to say, their life has changed forever and will not be able to return to the business that they run
