They look after us very well
I do like living here in the main. They look after us very well.

They have eyes in the back of their heads, they are very quick to respond. They keep us safe and help us.

The food is good. I can look after myself and I can occasionally go out but not as often as I would like.

I don't think enough time is given to taking us out.

Very kind staff, would like to go out more
It's lovely in some ways. They're very kind here but there's not always time for a chat although they are willing when they do have time.

It's wonderful to have people popping in and out making drinks for you and the food is wonderful, they do some lovely recipes with good quality ingredients. I like reading in my room.

My family brings me books and the staff are always willing to lend. I go downstairs sometimes but you're limited with people you can have conversations with because of the de
... mentia.

They've had volunteer gardeners and people have donated lovely window boxes, they've got some beautiful roses by the front door. I do love gardening, I used to do that a lot in my home.

I have done it here but when they're short-staffed you can't go out. I really do like to be outside and go for walks so I would like to do that more.

It's been a while since I could because the staff have been on holiday or new ones are being trained. We used to go out to the church and we have a Minister come in for special occasions which is lovely.

We have had different visitors doing things with us. We've had some wonderful singers of all different types of music - music always lifts your spirits.

There is a board downstairs that tells you what is happening but the lady who organises things is not here. I struggle to sleep at night as it can be noisy with residents shouting and doors banging.

Sometimes I can sleep but I have nightmares which I think is my medication. If I need anything I can ring my buzzer but I don't like to worry them, but they pop in every now and then to check on me anyway.

Most things are fantastic but it would be good to sleep more and have a routine, and have things to do in the day. I like my room - it's bright and I have a lovely view of the trees where I can watch all the different wildlife.

I'd like more activities
I don't like it here, everybody else has dementia and I don't. My friend takes me out twice a week shopping and to the church.

I spend my days doing word searches. It was good when the activities lady was here, my favourite game was Rummikub - I miss that.

I'd be a bit happier if somebody could do more activities as I'm bored. Most of the food is muck, you have two choices to pick from and you can't ask for anything else.

Mum seems to have settled in
My mum has been here a month and seems to have settled in. It's OK here.

Her room is upstairs so once she's down she can't really go back up and she used to walk about more at her previous home but she seems quite settled in the communal area. The staff have told us when she's seen the doctor and they also let us know about a fall she had.

We can visit any time. There's a lot of staff for the amount of residents, as soon as someone moves there's somebody there.

They seem to be on it.

Very Unclean
My sister-in-law is there at the moment and I was very unimpressed and quite shocked when we went to visit her. The place was dirty and smelly.

I took my sister-in-law to the toilets while I was there and the toilet was filthy, it was covered in faeces . There was also used incontinence underwear on the floor.

The staircase was very dirty. I find it hard to communicate with the staff because we don't speak the same language.
