They listen
I came in to the surgery in crisis and I was taken to a private room. I'd been planning to seriously harm myself that day so I was grateful Kelly spoke to me. I've had appointments with her since too and they should give that nurse a gold star! I've also seen a doctor who listened to me about my preferred choice of medications. All the doctors have always been good.
The receptionists have always been nice and I've seen the Community Health workers although that has been a bit hit and miss. In g
... eneral there are people here I can talk to.

Wouldn't be at work without their support
I was having issues with my workplace which impacted my wellbeing. I got an appointment the day I phoned up in crisis. The surgery didn't just look after my physical health with medications, Dr. Rose connected me with all these other services. I had therapy from Talking Therapies and support from Working Well. Because of all this help I managed to stay in work and I wouldn't have been able to without it.
I'm no longer on medications and I'm managing to cope as I've got new ways to deal with thi
... ngs. I'm thinking about becoming a Mental Health First Aider for my workplace now.

Well done Watton
I'm really happy with this surgery. They got me in to hospital for a scan two weeks after I saw the doctor. I also saw Rosie as I was so stressed and Flo who helped me get a Blue Badge. I didn't know all this help existed, they did everything. Well done Watton!

Mostly good
Mostly the surgery is good. You can wait for a long time in a queue for them to answer the phone, sometimes it's 40 minutes but once you are through they are usually very helpful.
There was one exception, when I called because I add a sore foot and because as a diabetic I knew it was important to be careful with my feet. I asked if I could see or speak to someone and they said the nurse would call me back. Eventually the nurse called at 4pm and said it was now too late to see me.
It was a Fr
... iday and I didn't want to wait over the weekend. I had to press the nurse to make me an appointment and I did get to see a paramedic at 6pm. The paramedic was really good and and prescribed me some antibiotics to take if the foot got any worse.

Making appointments can be tricky.
The easiest way for me to make an appointment is to go in person. I do live close by and it's better than waiting on the phone for ages.

All in all the surgery is fine
I've been a patient here for about 11 years. In the past it hasn't felt as slick and professional here but things have improved more recently. I've found the reception staff to be very helpful. All in all the surgery is fine, just a few little niggles.

We have a general lack of confidence in the surgery
Prescriptions suddenly stop and they don't tell you about it. My wife has several health reviews but they won't offer them at the same time. There are seemingly so many different departments that don't seem to talk to each other. We have a general lack of confidence in the surgery.

Awful
Can’t get any appointments. In severe pain and being sick was told they can’t do anything cause my pain relief is too high. Then told cause I’m under pain clinic go to them instead. It seems if u have medical condition they don’t want to know. Its not the first time this has happened and it probably won’t be the last

Shocking advice
Firstly couldn't get an appointment while struggling to breath, then told to go pharmacist, I then questioned this, and they said that was wrong, eventually get an appointment with a nurse, who said she couod hear stuff on my chest but my chest is clear, she told me to take PARACETAMOL to help with my breathing !!!??? And that PARACETAMOL reduces inflammation, I'm not medically trained like the nurse is supposed to be, but I know both these statements are false. She should not be giving medical ... advice.

Awful with Autism & ADHD Patients
Watton Medical Practice treats Adults with Autism, ADHD or Specific Learning Disabilities really poorly. Watton Medical Practice fails to communicate effectively and clearly with Hospitals and outside organisations particularly with the Right to Choose Pathways leading in unwarranted hardship to patients experiencing complications & distress. Watton Medical Practice has issues communicating to patients in regards to sudden appointments cancellation or rescheduling appointments without informing ... patients. The online forms are overly complicated and often down leading to distressing exposures to phone line call queues often exceeding 40 patients . Watton Medical Practice has consistency issues regarding Doctors as they’re is not set schedule for patients to know when there Doctor is available and doctors are apprehensive to make referrals or treat patients assigned to other doctors.
