Prescriptions

Many of nursing staff at Acle are lovely but we have recently had difficulties with the dispensary service. On several occasions recently prescriptions have not been ready on time (and one was lost) requiring second visits to collect medication. Tonight I arrived at precisely 6.30 (closing time) and although the dispensary window was open and another person was walking away with medication, I was turned away by a member of staff. I explained that this would mean I would now be without my medication until the following Tuesday (it is Easter weekend) I was told that the dispensary had been open since 8.00am and was now closed! The staff member shrugged, walked on and closed the dispensary window. I dare say she was within her rights, had maybe had a difficult day but I felt this was harsh since I was not technically late and had also had problems getting to Acle earlier that day! I have a great deal of respect for our NHS especially under current circumstances but a little more respect and understanding would have gone a long way in this instance. I hope the lack of medication will not result in me feeling or being unwell.
