Honest feedback on this GP practice

Having worked in the NHS for 42 years as a chartered physiotherapist, I’m well aware of the challenges of delivering healthcare and although I’ve had some problems in the past, when I’ve brought them to the attention of the practice manger and other staff I have always been responded to and my concerns taken seriously I do think the practice has worked hard to improve its delivery and I’ve found the staff to be friendly and helpful The staff in the pharmacy are great and it never takes the 3 days for my prescription to reach the chemist although I always try to not leave ordering until the last minute I recently travelled to an African country where I needed a GP letter for one of the drugs I take and it was done for me within a day and proved vital to me being allowed to board my flight You can always find fault with any organisation and having read the recent reviews I feel some of them are a little unfair and do not reflect the service I have experienced The NHS has been chronically underfunded for years and it is difficult to meet expectations of patients, when there s a lack of GP and other staff like physios OTs specialist practitioners but I have always been treated with respect and listened to With the addition of a new GP to the practice recently I’ve not had problems either getting a consultation phone call or a face to face when appropriate Healthcare evolves and we have to find new ways of delivering it , so it isn’t always necessary to see a doctor face to face if another staff member can deal with the issue
