Original Feedback for The Beaches Medical Centre:

Worst experience ever encountered.

83 year old with dementia and a severe rash. tried to contact for a doctor's appointment as it was a worsening situation, the receptionist was most unhelpful in fact obtuse and I felt was reading from a script. I or whoever would have to take photographs of this very very personal area and send them to them before they would consider an appointment, let alone a home visit or in fact even a nurse, and I was not getting anywhere without the photos. I explained that older people cannot handle this technology and any person in his condition needs to SEE a doctor but she reluctantly said she would fill a form in for him. It was not clear what the form would do as she said everything has to be triaged and they needed the photographs. In the end, I had to get him ready and go 18 Miles to a walk-in surgery in Norwich as instructed by 111. It was lucky I could do this as many older people could not do this. I had not been to this surgery for years as this person was verbally abused by a doctor for being 12 minutes late as he descended into dementia some 3 or 4 years ago. The bridge was up and a small accident had occurred. I made a formal complaint then and after being buttered up by the practice manager withdrew the complaint despite the doctor being unrepentant. This surgery is a disgrace and the people of Gorleston deserve better particularly older people. You may not think it but you are being mistreated by this setup and you deserve better. I personally do not belong to this surgery but one in London and this surgery is so poor there is simply no comparison. This is not the NHS, the problem is this medical centre.
