No appointments left

I was discharged from hospital a couple of weeks ago, but over this weekend have started to feel really unwell again. I tried to call the surgery first thing yesterday morning and sat for ages on hold ( the message on the phone said I was 29th in the queue for ages) when I got through there were no appointments available. My partner came to the surgery this morning for 8am and queued outside so that he could make me an appointment, this is not ideal as he has health problems too and I don't think he should feel that his only option is to wait outside the surgery to get be sure that I can be seen by the doctor. Over the past year or so it is really tricky trying to get a follow up appointment with the same GP, it makes it hard for patients when they have to keep seeing different doctors each time.
