    Difficulty contacting a GP urgently

I was told by our District Nurses (for problems with a catheter) on Friday evening to contact my GP to ask for antibiotics. With the difficulty contacting my GP on Friday evening, I decided to use the antibiotics included in my COPD SOS pack (Doxycycline). The person I spoke to on the District Nurses' phone said she would get a nurse out to me on Sunday. At about 2.20 pm on Sunday I had a phone call from a District Nurse saying: due to staff problems they were unable to visit then but would try to get someone out to me tomorrow (Monday 15th). I said there maybe problems with the catheter as it seemed to be flowing intermittently. She also said that Doxycycline was not the most appropriate antibiotic but agree that as I was on my third capsule, I should finish the course but she would speak to my GP. She then said that if the catheter flow stopped, I should call the District Nurse Standby Service.
