Refusal of a bone scan

I have osteoporosis and cannot take the usual medication so was instead offered an annual infusion which I declined at the time due to reasons I made my gp aware of. I have been managing this through diet, supplements and exercise within my capabilities due to other health conditions. I recently spoke with a pharmacist about my supplements and he suggested I should request a DEXA scan as my last one was two years ago, to see what effect if any the measures I am taking are helping. I requested this but was refused the scan because I hadn’t had the infusion. Apparently they would scan to see if the infusion is working but not if my diet, supplements and exercise are halting progress if the disease.
