    Fobbed off

I fell down heavily and landed on my spine on the edge of a step. I went to the minor injuries unit as I suspected I had chipped a back bone. The nurse on duty looked at the injury site, said that I had no serious injury that my legs were working OK and to take painkillers but said that he could not arrange an x ray as there were no facilities to x ray the spine at the unit. Several months later after severe pain and discomfort I am now finally getting the x ray I expected after the injury which has been arranged by my GP. It seems to me that the nurse I saw directly after my fall made a judgement on my condition which he considered did not warrant an x ray. However my main concern is that he lied to me at the time.
