Removed from list of NHS patients

I was informed by the receptionist that their policy was that as I had no attended the dental centre in 2 years, I was no longer on their list of NHS patients. This was quite a shock to me, as I had attended regular check ups there for over at least 10 years, and as I understood that due to the government restrictions on the whole country since Wednesday 23rd of March 2020, it would not have been either possible nor acceptable to ensure that my regular check ups were maintained. From March 23rd 2020 until 24th February 2022, there were many months of complete lock down throughout the country, when unless I had a real emergency it was expected that I would only request assistance or treatment for dental or medical difficulties when absolutely necessary or life threatening. As a person in their 70s, living alone throughout the pandemic, I now find that my perseverance has resulted in being penalised. I do not accept that it was possible for much, if any of the past 24 months, to obtain an appointment for a check up.
