Concerns over wife's cancer diagnosis

My wife went to her GP with concerns. They treated her for a urinary infection for 9 months and then a new young doctor came along and said she needed a scan and then referred her to the hospital. Once at the hospital she was fast tracked for cancer treatment. Then it happened a second time and she was suddenly very ill - went back to the surgery and nothing happened. So in desperation she phoned her former cancer nurse who managed to get a scan for her the next day. She was then given days to live. I just feel that if it was caught sooner and if our doctors had acted quicker, it may have been different. Doctors are aware of stomach cancer and the symptoms but still they didn't help.
