Original Feedback for Fakenham Medical Practice:

A failing medical practice

It’s easier to crack the Bletchley Code than to see a doctor in this practice, and even harder to see a doctor that seemingly cares about people. I suffer from COPD and have not had a face to face review for over three years. I recently had an episode of exacerbation of my COPD and managed to see a doctor , after a lengthy triage process over the phone This doctor who totally dismissed my concerns, refused to prescribe antibiotics, steroids or inhalers despite my productive cough, inability to catch my breath and low peak flow tests that I perform at home. Last year the surgery refused my flu and pneumonia vaccination because I was too old despite being a vulnerable patient. The doctor begrudgingly listened to my concerns then complained that I only had a fifteen minute time slot. It was a total waste of time. The nurses and receptionists are rude and uncaring. Goodness knows how this practice has scored ‘good’ with the CQC. It is totally mismanaged at the expense of its patients. GPs seem reluctant to treat, see, or even care. This practice causes me distress and anxiety every time I need to seek medical attention, and that is not very often. It does not support its patients, it is not a robust service provider for preventative measures regarding chronic conditions. It’s failing it’s residents of Fakenham, through its mismanagement and uncaring attitude towards patients and it’s poor practice management.
