  Today I visited the Falkland Surgery to have a routine Smear. I was extremely anxious as my previous Smear had been a horrible experience at Millwood Surgery. Laura the practise nurse at the Falkland was lovely put me at ease listened to my worries and made sure I felt completely comfortable the whole way through. I also noticed the LGBTQIA flags around the surgery, we discussed this and I know personally Laura put this in place to make people of the community feel welcome. As I am part of the part myself this meant a great deal to me to seeing positive inclusivity. She is real credit to the nurse team at Falkland Surgery.

  I registered with Falklands surgery yet if I book appointments I am always sent to millwood. I was told over the phone by a receptionist that I might have cancer and that the test I was being sent for where to check for cancer. I believe that this should not have been done over the phone and should have been conveyed to me in person and most definitely by a doctor and not the receptionist.

  Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that you have found your experience of the surgery unsatisfactory. Regarding registration the Millwood Partnership is one practice operating from both the Millwood and Falkland Sites. There is no guarantee that you will be able to receive the treatment or appointment you need at either site. This has been the case since the practices Millwood Surgery and Falkland Surgery merged in 2018. In regard to your other concern that news was relayed to you by inappropriate staff in an inappropriate manner, I would appreciate if further detail could be sent to me at millwood.surgery@nhs.net.

  Since the amalgamation with Millwood it has been impossible to get an appointment. I have to get there really early in the morning and queue at the door.

  I have had extremely good care here, even since the merger with Millwood. I've been looked after exceptionally well by the doctors.

  I think they do a good job considering the limitations. It takes about a fortnight to see a doctor but this is a problem across primary care and we need more doctors.

• On the phone for hours to get an appointment

  You can be on the phone for hours to get an appointment, you can't book a few days in advance. You're either better or dead. Not the doctors fault just too many people and not enough appointments. It never used to be like that here.

• Appointments tricky

  I have had some issues recently with trying to get appointments and you can never see the same doctor. I rang at 8am when they open and was told that there were only 4 appointments for the day and they had all gone. When you work and are limited in when you can go you really have to take what you can get. I was told they are meant to be merging with another practice which should improve the situation but I guess we will have to wait and see.
