Wrong dosage of medication

Usually I don’t experience any problems with the surgery and generally find the staff pleasant and helpful when needed but recently my 5 year old daughter was prescribed antibiotics for a urine infection. When we went to pick up the medication from boots the pharmacist wouldn’t give the medication as he noticed the dose was an adult dose not a childs and got in touch with the surgery to sort it out. I am really glad that it was noticed before any had been given to her, I dread to think what may have happened if she had taken any as I wouldn’t have noticed that it wasn’t correct! When it comes to medication maybe a little more care and attention should be taken so that a fatal mistake isn’t made.
