    Maternity

I had something inserted during pregnancy to help induce birth. I had an allergic reaction to this but the midwife wouldn’t listen. I was in a lot of pain, I went to the toilet and took it out and said that it fell out as the midwife wouldn’t listen. I had a c-section which went okay. After birth they didn’t offer me enough food, the portions were very small. Also, my husband couldn’t stay with me overnight which I feel like I needed. I struggled with breastfeeding and was told three different ways I could do it by different midwives, each one told me the other way wasn’t great. It was confusing and frustrating and I was scared I couldn’t feed. I didn’t see the same community midwife twice throughout pregnancy. It would be better as they’d notice things that maybe someone doesn’t who sees you for the first time. They were all lovely. After birth the community midwife really helped with breastfeeding, I wish I could see them more.
