Original Feedback for James Paget Hospital:

Any bad press not hospital's fault

The James Paget is a highly regarded hospital, which means the local media are always eager to try and find a bad story. I think the reporting of health issues is very bad - the media like to stick microphones in the faces of grieving people; I think they take advantage of them. Sometimes people die in hospital - and maybe more could have been done to prevent a death in some cases, but I think this aggressive media abuse misleads people. Having worked at the James Paget, (and in healthcare for over 25 years) I can say they do extremely well, but not everything can run smoothly all the time - you need to prioritise serious patient incidents for example. When the media do go sniffing around the hospital, the Trust can't even respond properly due to confidentiality laws. It's not fair on them and not an accurate representation of a marvelous hospital.
