Falling Medical Standards and Service

Considerable concern is mounting in the area served by this practice because its medical and service standards have been declining since before the COVID-19 pandemic started and have now reached an alarming level. Anecdotally, these include: 1. The habitual absences of a senior and managing partner have now increased to the point where at best he only attends once a week, apparently because he is looking after his other personal interests in the UK and overseas. 2. Medical mistakes are bering made in diagnoses such as failure to identify correctly obviously serious lung conditions, heart conditions, etc. 3. Prescription errors and omissions. 4. Inadequate medical presence, lack of medical continuity and no adequate out of hours/Saturday service. 5. Hit and miss follow through with consultants. 6. Patients' Apps not up to date. The general impression is one of a downward spiral, despite of the staff's efforts to keep things going, largely due to the failure of by GPs running the practice to recognise the issues and to deal with them. The present pandemic is not a reason or excuse for any of this which was happening before it started and ha only got worse.
