Husband (33M) phoned after experiencing numbness in his leg for 5 days, extreme back pain and a headstoma on his calf. Sat in queue of 30+ people and was told by reception there were no appointments, no call backs and to go to the walk in centre.

For a man who works full time and for the public sector, who doesn’t ask for much, pays his taxes. To be told there were no appointments just makes him feel like no one cares and like he is a bother for calling. How does this help male mental health? A non medical professional diagnosing that he is not deemed a priority. No wonder men are struggling and do not talk. Now I will spend more time begging him to call the doctor as now he feels he is being silly. Not happy, really disappointed. Who are people supposed to turn to.
