Impossible to get appointments

Got a letter asking me to make an appointment for a blood test. I was told to ring at 8 am - on the first day I was 36 in a queue, 40 on the second day, then 37 on the third day so I gave up. I booked online for 3 to 4 weeks in the end. A year ago I could have got one in a week. It's definitely got worse since the merger and new houses too. Did not attends should be fined, I worry for older people on their own not online and can't stay on the phone. The doctors at both surgeries are great, it's just the volume of people!
