How to get an appointment with GP - 2020

It has been difficult to obtain an appointment at Millwood surgery even prior to the current covid situation. Trying to telephone would result in being placed in a very long queue and often all appointments would be gone. The only way to obtain a same day appointment (if you were well enough) would be to queue outside the surgery at 7.45 am. There was often a long queue and those patients were given appointments, At the present time ( due to the covid situation) patients have to complete an online form with details of why they need to see, or speak to a GP. On the form it states they hope to contact you within four hours. We sent a form requesting a telephone appointment on 1st October. Today is 5th October but we have not been contacted apart from notification that request was received. Now we have to try a phone contact which we know, from previous experience, means a long wait on the phone. We are extremely concerned for any patient, particularly those who are unwell, vulnerable and possibly live alone. What do they do if they need to see a GP.
