Original Feedback for Mydentist - High Street - King's Lynn:

Don't care for the patient

I went to them with a severe toothache. My mouth was swollen and I had difficulty swallowing. I was told they had no emergency appointments necessary, despite my obvious distress. I was told that their duty of care towards me, was to see me within 24 hours. I was furious. This is not the sort of standard of care one would expect from a dentist, A&E or your GP. I always believed that an emergency meant just that, and that a form of triage was used. If there had not been a cancellation, plus my statement that they were denying me treatment and my threat to take it to my MP, I do not believe that I would have been seen that day. As it was, I had to wait til 15:45 hrs to see a dentist. The dentist went out of her way to ensure that I had the most appropriate and effective treatment to leave me pain free. But for her, I believe that I would have been left in agony. I cannot see how mydentist can justify this policy. Toothache is extremely debilitating, and as I am a full time carer for my disabled wife, toothache can cause major problems for carer and caree. I had to have root canal work, which the dentist did excellently. Four hours after treatment, I was pain free. mydentist, trading as Integrated Dental Holdings, appear to have a disgusting policy. I feel that they are inclined to put private patient first, and shove NHS patients to the back of the queue.
