Confusing messages from test and trace

Over Christmas one of our family members tested positive for COVID. We were contacted by Test and Trace and filled in the close contacts. We had all been in contact prior since we have to look after children within the family but my daughter didn't hear a thing, I got a text saying I needed to isolate and another family member got a phonecall saying none of the close contacts would need to isolate if they were double vaccinated. They continued to tell us mixed messages. We presumed this was probably because the guidance was changing. However I received three text telling me to do slightly different things. They kept telling my my 5 days of daily lateral flows was from the day I got the text but I got three of them on different days. What we had to do in the end is look at the guidance online and follow it using our common sense. I don't know if it was local or national test and trace but it was a mess.
