Trouble accessing dentist for young child

I had my first child in 2020 & was unable to access a local NHS dentist for myself during this year re covid restrictions. (Myself & partner had moved to new area a few months prior). Last year I registered with a private practice for dental care for myself however my child is now 2 & long overdue their 1st check up and I contine to struggle to find an NHS dental practice taking on new patients. My only option is to take her to my own private practice which will be costly no doubt, really disappointing having been an NHS employee of 15 years.
