Mixed experiences

I have had some excellent care and some that is beyond excellent. I was put in a private hospital on the NHS as the NNUH couldn't get me in and they were all excellent. The intensive care unit at the NNUH was amazing, the nurses are brilliant. Having said that, once I was back on the orthopedics ward, they were very stretched and all the staff were rushed. My mattress kept deflating in the night and waking me up. I was supposed to take my medication thirty minutes before I ate meals, but you never knew what time the food would arrive. Sometimes it was hours late. I was sent home too early. They asked me to sit in the day ward and then go home because they needed my bed for another patient. It's not the fault of staff, but they've got such a volume of people coming through.
