Bad experience with A&E & fracture clinic

I have had good experiences at the hospital up until recently. I recently had quite a traumatic experience when I broke my arm. I was initially seen in A&E and I couldn't fault how I was treated when I arrived in the ambulance and they did their best to help. They said it was a bad break and they'd have to operate. I came back the next day to the fracture clinic who said it was okay and put it in a cast and sent me off again. I felt like I had been fobbed off because I was 74 years old and they couldn't help me because of my age. I've now had 11 x-rays, I'm in a lot of residual pain and I just know it's still not right. I feel like this could have been avoided if they'd operated initially like they said they needed to when I visited A&E. I've been back multiple times since and have got conflicting information from multiple doctors. One will say it's okay and the next will say that they need to break it again to reset it. I just don't feel like 'okay' is reassuring enough. I know the hospital is overstretched and you can see that by the number of porta cabins they've bought in to try and help. But this whole experience has been traumatic.
