    Staff communication skills

The communication skills of staff weren't so good during my stay, I felt like I wasn't listened to. Both Docking Ward and Eastern Surgical Unit and also Denton and Cley wards. They jumped to conclusions about my health. Also, how they communicate back needs to be considered - I felt mocked for being in pain, things weren't explained to me in a "non-doctor" way. Issues started with the main consultant who ignored my info about what had been wrong with me previously. Nursing staff should have noticed I was in pain to relay back to the doctor. In Cley ward - they gynae consultant cared more about saving my womb than listening to what I wanted. It took another consultant to persuade the original consultant. I complained and got a response after 5-6 months but no apology. I tried to deal with it whilst in hospital but I didn't get anywhere. I tried to go through PALs, visited myself whilst in hospital but they said it had gone beyond them but it was not well explained to me
