Prostate cancer experience

My doctor was monitoring me and noticed my PSA was rising, I had a negative biopsy but still my PSA kept increasing. Eventually after further tests I got a diagnosis of prostate cancer in 2015. The consultant asked me whether I wanted radiotherapy or surgery - how can I make that decision? I felt I wasn't equipped to know what was best, the clinicians should more strongly steer that decision. I opted for surgery in the end but there was quite a lot of vagueness about the admin side of it - I heard "We can probably fit you in on X date" several times. The care generally was good though once I had a date for my surgery.
