Good experience on recovery ward

After breaking my ankle I was put onto a recovery ward. It was very good. The older nurses (known as ancillary nurses in my day) were terrific. The younger nurses seemed to spend a lot of time on computers but they were still nice. The specialist was really good. The after care was very good too with my cast etc. They told me what I needed to do to recover. The food was grim though! It was really even edible and it doesn't take much to have edible food. There wasn't really any wait as I was treated as an acute case and taken straight through. Treatment explanation was very good - the cast clinic were very good. It was very clean too - I was bathing myself in the wash area on the wards and there was always loads of soap which is important when you're looking after yourself.
