Original Feedback for Old Catton Medical Practice:

We would not recommend this practice

We (family of 5) have just left this medical practice due to the incredibly poor service, uncaring attitude, inflexibility, and total lack of patient care and respect. We could never book a timely appointment, often offered bookings weeks later, and never with the same doctor. The practice will only book urgent appointments on the day, and then only for the morning – you have to call back in the afternoon for a PM appointment and play their telephone tag system and lottery for a booking. When I politely questioned this I was told it’s their policy and I’d have to comply, or I should go to the walk in centre instead, ie: any reason to not see you. Fortunately we were not frequent visitors to the practice which just seemed to make it more insulting and exacerbating when we did call they just didn’t want to know. We also had a situation where a misdiagnosis on three occasions finally resulted in a urgent admission to hospital and a significant operation on the same day. The medical incompetence and lack of patient care was staggering – you really had to do your own Google diagnosis before visiting then instruct the practice on the appropriate course of action, otherwise you were dismissed and treated with the usual disdain. It could be a lovely surgery in an ideal location, but unfortunately the abject lack of patient care and ineptitude make this prospect seem improbable at best. If this we a private business they would have been insolvent years ago. I can’t believe the health service allows this to happen with our tax proceeds and there is no intervention to deal with failing practices. We would not recommend this practice under any circumstances.
