Original Feedback for Orford Hill Dental Practice:

No longer carrying out NHS checkups

Extremely upset and angry to get 4 letters to my address this morning telling us all that we will no longer be able to have NHS checkups at Orford Hill practice, and that all appointments from September are cancelled. It was a lovely letter explaining the reasoning and chronic underfunding from successive Tory governments, but so disappointing. I feel that if I join their plan and we pay £10-£20 per month each, then I am by default accepting that this is they way it should be. I then, as advised by my MP, checked out Find My Dentist and started calling on the phone. After 5 phone calls I was told that it is the same across Norfolk, and that the nearest I would get an NHS dentist was... Cambridge! I am writing on behalf, not only of myself and my family, but the few hundred families that I reach through my community work in North Norwich who cannot afford NHS checkup fees, let alone a private plan or a round trip to Cambridge! Hence, according to Community dental Training, hundreds of extractions are carried out in Norfolk in under 5s each year, due to complete lack of availability and prevention work. A shocking and very sad situation, that surely must be rectified as soon as possible.
