Ongoing problems

I had a problem with the skin around my eye - the receptionist would not let me see anyone as said it was for an optician. I explained again that it was not to do with my eye itself but still I couldn't get an appointment. The receptionists are told what to say and have to follow a system but this isn't always practical and doesn't put patients first. There's often no eye contact from receptionists - the surgery doesn't feel friendly. They are trained to do a job but not trained to deal with human beings. Also, the phone triage is sometimes used to diagnose problems without the doctor having seen the person - it seems impossible that this is practical.
