Have been on the waiting list...
11th November 2019I have been on the waiting list for dental treatment for ages. I have to use the city centre. The situation here is only going to get worse given the amount of new houses being built.

Admiral Nurses are great and we need more
26th September 2019We need more admiral nurses - we have insufficient admirals nurses in Norfolk and they're so specialist and dementia patients desperately need them. They also do home visits and the work they do is so important.

Limited access to cardiac rehabilitation
19th August 2019Came out of Papworth after open heart surgery. Attleborough Station Road Surgery was where I was diagnosed and I live alone in the area. I was sent a letter about cardiac rehabilitation in the area but I can't get to any of them because they're all too far away. The letter did give me advice so I'm now doing my own rehabilitation instead because I can't drive to get to any of the sessions mentioned. I've been lucky though because I'm fit and well and I've received excellent care.

Should use more assistive tech
30th April 2019Access to hospital beds is not always easy so assistive technology is brilliant - clocks, pressure pad, and bleeper for when people are getting out of bed etc. Really good and very helpful.

Not aware of my travel rights
27th March 2019I end up spending a lot of money on taxis to get me to and from my hospital appointments, and would like to know whether I am entitled to any free transport or help with costs, but the doctors couldn't tell me. It would be good if the CCG could publicise transport options more widely.

Hard to get flomax
28th February 2019I need to regularly take flomax, but none of the chemists where I live in Diss stock it, and I can't get it delivered either. I have to drive to Thetford to my pharmacy there which is a little inconvenient.

GPs overworked with elderly population
28th February 2019GPs are definitely overworked in Diss. Around here, 75% of patients are old, which means all the appointments are gone within five minutes of a surgery being open. We simply need an increase in doctors. One thing I have found useful to reassure me with health concerns are online patient forums. A lot of the time you can find out what you need, and hearing that people have been through similar experiences really helps. Maybe commissioners should make more use of them.

Need to prioritise prevention and screening
5th February 2019I think everything's in a bit of a sticky situation at the moment, it's a lack of funding really. I think there needs to be more of an emphasis on prevention and screening. People aren't aware that they might have symptoms for something serious so things go undiagnosed.

Need better GP and day centre links
8th January 2019Need to treat smaller things rather than wait for the bigger issues and need links between day centres and GPs. Nobody sees the potential we have to help at day centres. We can spot someone's symptoms. For example I have seen people with a UTI who have collapsed because they're dehydrated - they got a broken hip and needed a replacement. It just aggravates larger issues if people's minor issues aren't addressed.

Long waits
30th September 2018There was a 12 week wait to have teeth out, when you're in pain it's not good, Watton use Queen Elizabeth Hospital, they offer last minute appointments but you can't get an interpreter. There's a bus straight from Watton, so why can't you use Norwich?
