Can't make a routine appointment

Used to be good, they were brilliant when my husband was ill a few years ago. Now if you try to ring it takes hours and they won't make appointments over the phone. It has to be done online and then triaged. It's a protracted process and you can't make a routine appointment. We're coming out of covid now and it feels unacceptable that it's still this hard. I can do it online, but my neighbour isn't able to. It feels like I'm a nuisance as a patient. The lines of communication between the hospital and the surgery aren't good. I had several appointments and I didn't know what one was about. The hospital said I had to ring the surgery but the surgery didn't know anything.
