Lack of understanding around people living with dementia

We came to urgent care via A and E and since we have been here the waiting and care in the urgent care department has been very slow. Everyone is kind and no one has been rude but there seems to be a lack of understanding around issues for people living with dementia. We brought our care home resident for help and whilst people have been fairly kind the waiting time has been difficult to manage with our resident who has dementia with challenging behaviour. We have been here a long time. We are just on our way back from X ray now and our resident is getting quite agitated because of all the waiting. Staff were asking the patient questions they were unable to answer and this prolonged the process and lengthened the overall waiting around time. Our resident was also offered medication with no drink to take it. When we asked for something one of the staff noticed a bottle in my bag and suggested I use that. I couldn't do this because it was not the residents water, it was my bottle and I had already used it. The staff were kind but I feel things could have been better.
