Sepsis on a weekend

My husband had sepsis and we went to A&E on a weekend. His ear was expanding rapidly. We went up there in the afternoon and later that evening I ended up having to take him to the Norfolk and Norwich as hospital transport would have taken ages. I had to take him there as they told us they didn't have the expertise to treat him. They disconnected his drip and off we went. It seemed like a somewhat unnecessary trip as all they did at the N&N was hook him up to IV again - but they had a consultant to look him over.
