Bacterial meningitis antibiotics

I've just come off the phone with a member of staff from the pharmacy and am i tears. She was so rude, and if i could swear in this box, i would. I have had an incredibly stressful couple of days with my sister nearly dying from bacterial meningitis and i was told that i needed antibiotics because i had come in contact with her for an extended period of time. The GP that i spoke to was lovely and sorted the prescription for me. He said to call the pharmacy to check that they had it in stock, which i did. They said they would need to order it in and that it would be in tomorrow. I said that could they please keep it on the order for tomorrow and i would try and ring round other pharmacy's to see if i can get it from elsewhere. I specifically said if you don't hear back from me, assume i need it so please keep it on order. I said that i would call others ASAP and call back before 12 if i didn't need it. I couldn't find it anywhere else so i thought i best to ring back the Thorpe pharmacy to confirm i need it. She said that she had taken it off the order and will now put it back on. Good job i did call them back then. I asked why she had done that and she said because there was no guarantee that i needed it. I never, and i repeat, never told her that i didn't it and i said that i would let her know within the next 15 minutes if i didn't. I cannot begin to explain to you how stressful the last few days have been and this has literally just topped me off. I did ask her to stop shouting at me and explained the situation but she continued to be so flipping rude. I'm literally in tears writing this. I know she probably doesn't care about my current situation but there was no need for her language or tone of voice. I work for the NHS and i know how busy it is at the moment, but this level of rude towards a patient is not called for at all.
