Needed bilateral hip replacements due to osteoporosis arthritis

I had been seen over the years with worsening osteoarthritis. Last November I saw Dr Carroll with acute severe pain in my left leg. Xrays arranged and taken and then referred for surgery. I was offered 3 NHS hospitals to be referred to, plus 2 private funded by the NHS. I opted for the private pathway and I was seen by a surgeon at St.Edmunds Hospital, Bury St Edmunds for initial consultation. First hip operated on on May 24th and second on July 5th. I now have my life back. Both operations were very successful. Without the input from Toftwood Surgery , I would still be in considerable pain and unable to walk very far. My world was shrinking as there were so many things I could not do. My life has been given back to me. We have been with the surgery for 24 years and have always received excellent care. It will be a tragedy for Toftwood Medical Centre to be closed. I do not feel that the proposed closure will be right for either this surgery or the Orchard and Theatre Royal surgeries. How can any of the population of Dereham get safe, timely care with all the pressures that will be put on the remaining surgeries
