Phone System Issues

I don't like the phone system and telling the receptionist my health issues. I called recently at 8am and told the receptionist what was wrong and she said the doctor would call me later. The doctor called at 12pm and after talking to me said I should come in at 4:40pm that day. As soon as I arrived the doctor immediately sent me to the hospital. It makes me think that the receptionist didn't communicate to the doctor how serious my issue was when I called at the start of the day. How do we know what the reception team is feeding back to the doctors is accurate?
