Difficult to arrange appointments (I realise this is as most places these days)...
This a good surgery, but clearly lacks the space and medical staff to cater fully for their existing patients and the projected increase in housing in this catchment area. Needs major building and IT infrastructure improvements.

Have never had a problem getting an appointment
Have never had a problem getting an appointment when I have needed one and whichever nurse or doctor I see have always been polite. Last week I had a blood test in Monday, they phoned me with the results on Tuesday and gave me an appointment with the doctor

Staff are helpful
It's better than it used to be. The reception staff are helpful and the doctors do their best. Overall fairly good.

Incorrect appointment booking
I made an appointment for a telephone call with doctor regarding my son on 1sy May in person at reception whilst attending a physio appointment for myself. The call was scheduled for 22nd May.

I was expecting the call today but instead received a call from the physio for myself asking the same questions I gave in person three weeks ago, only to find he had not taken any action from our actuyal appointment. I called the surgery to see if it was coincidence he called and that I was still awaitin
... g a call re my son, to be told no, they have nothing on record, and I'd have to go online to book an appointment or call at 8am.

The website will not take bookings due to high demand and I am often working at 8am and unable to call, so had to book another phone call for an appointment on 18th June, making it approximately a 7 week lead time to speak to anyone about my sons medical needs.

Appointment booking failure
Made an appointment in March for appointment with a doctor face to face for 29th April re a knee issue. On the morning I received a phone call from the surgery advising that the nurse was not in and my appointment needed to be rescheduled.

I politely advised that my appointment was with a doctor, as I had explained when booking that I was looking for a referral to utilise my private healthcare. They had booked this incorrectly, and could only offer me a physio appointment on Wednesday 1st May.
...

I accepted and went along. I am ware that I have a bone on bone keen issue that would require surgery at some point, as I was advised several years ago by surgeon when left knee was addressed.

After explaining this to the physio, he did not even examine the knee. Only asked me to do a single squat and said Id be fine.

I know its not fine as am in lots of pain with knee and insisted on a referral. he agree to refer me, but to date, 22 days later, Ive received nothing but a phone call asking me the same information I presented 22 days ago, and that he has not actioned a referral.

A complete farce.

Unacceptable level of service
It used to be possible to send the contact form from the website so the doctor or nurse could call you back. There has been a default “due to high demand we are not taking any further requests” message displayed at all times of the day and night for at least the last month.

This means everyone has no option but to telephone the surgery, for everything. And that of course means the lines are blocked.

Unacceptable level of service.

Request repeat prescription via the Boughton
It is 17.49 on a Friday.

I am trying to request my repeat medication but the message comes up that it is out of hours (But starts 18.30 on Friday and I still have 40 odd minutes until it is "out of hours") and I will have to wait until Monday morning now to put in my request.

There is a message that now routinely comes up " Too busy to take anything but urgent messages for the practice". This has been there for weeks now.

This is not a good service. Also I had to wait several weeks for an
... appointment for my 93 year old mother.

In-accessible physiotherapy
An appointment with the physiotherapist involved the carer having to LIFT the patient and wheelchair over a step to get in and out. The physiotherapy table was not capable of being raised or lowered, so the patient could not get on the table, and the therapist could not demonstrate the exercises.

This is unacceptable. When we tried to contact the surgery, we were told to send an email, and that the email address was on the website.

We could not find an email address on the contact page, and
... when we tried to send a message we were told that a message could not be sent because they were too busy today.

Very poor service
Visited doctor to discuss, possible foot fracture. He said he would contact hospital for emergency X-ray. A standard referral letter was sent? I have been in excruciating pain for two days. Reception said they didn't know what was happening? So went to A&E off my own back.

Long time patient
As a long time patient this surgery is brilliant. We are extremely lucky to have doctors who are so kind, caring and understanding.

Yesterday I requested a telephone call appointment which resulted in a face to face appointment with a doctor who stayed on late to see me. Praise also for all the nurses and staff whom I have found to be not only professional and efficient but helpful, pleasant and cheerful as well.
