Heathgate Medical Practice

I went to the GP three times over 12 months and they diagnosed me with something different every time, all wildly different things. It wasn't until my stomach blew up that they finally gave me a blood test and found I had stage 3 ovarian cancer. Looking back now, I'd gone in before all this thinking I had long Covid but I was probably feeling unwell from the start of the cancer. The last GP I saw who said my pain was a hip problem and referred me to physio was incredibly condescending.
I spoke ... to one of the doctors to express my unhappiness and they told me I'd have to make another appointment in five week's time to discuss it as a complaint. I spoke to the practice manager, who was dismissive and rude, and they were supposed to send a complaint form out which I never received. I asked at reception about this and they were also quite snappy - they are obstructive in general when I'm trying to get help or appointments. I recently asked for a UTI test which they wouldn't do and told me to go to the Walk-In Centre, even though it is something they can do there. I particularly have to be careful of sepsis after having so much chemo.
Given the situation of me having advanced cancer which was missed by their clinicians, they could treat me with more kindness. They haven't accepted any responsibility or apologised. It's too late for me now but I'm complaining as I don't want this to happen to anybody else. What if it was a younger woman whose symptoms were missed, then she has surgery that means she can't have children?
They didn't check up on me after I had major surgery and multiple rounds of chemo. I've got a pain in my shoulder now which they're dismissing as a physio matter - it could be something a lot more serious seeing as my cancer has spread before. I just don't feel like they care about me.

I come every month and it's all very good. It is busier than it used to be but the staff are helpful. It's a very good team.

Brilliant surgery. I called at 8am today and was offered an appointment today. It does usually work well.

They're great and I can't fault them. They have a good attitude, they listen show kindness and are supportive.
The nurse today was so kind.

The staff are usually helpful and friendly and I have not had a bad experience here and I have been coming quite a few years.
If I need an urgent appointment I can usually get one.
I suppose more staff would be good.

Spectacular. The staff are good and endeavour to do the best with what they have got.
They have also been good referring me.

They are really good, I have never had a problem with them. They have always got appointments when I need one. The staff are brilliant, friendly and polite, it's all good. I come for regular checks and it's always okay.

I think they are great.
The only thing I saw recently which I didn't like was a sign on reception that said there was no one on reception because they were all busy dealing with other patient issues.
I did not think this was a very good message, we are not people with issues we are patients with needs.

The staff are always friendly, polite and efficient. They are just great and I really mean that. It is better than a previous surgery I went to. It feels better equipped here too.
