The dentist didn't talk, he was quite miserable. He didn't say what tools he was using or what he was doing and that made me anxious. He doesn't give advice about how to look after your teeth, there's no education.
The experience could be made a lot nicer for no real cost. Something to look at on the ceiling for distraction, a timer showing how long is left of each stage, and being told what's happening as it happens.
