So hard to get an appointment
Getting through on the phone is so hard and then getting an appointment is not easy. My 4 year old has not been well and couldn't get an appointment for them, just get sent to the walk in centre or the pharmacy.

My wife has gone into the surgery today and just waited an hour and a half to talk to someone on reception to just try and get him seen. There is even long waits on the phone in the afternoon not just at the 8am rush, I phoned at 3pm and still 30 minutes wait before the call is answere
... d.

The care once you are in is good, but getting it is so hard. We are looking to change practices.

I am sorry to hear of the difficulties you have experienced in getting an appointment. Unfortunately this problem is symptomatic of wider issues within the NHS. I am pleased to hear that you were signposted to other suitable services such as Pharmacy First and the Walk-in-Centre. These are valid points of care and have been established to help alleviate the overwhelming demand on General Practice surgeries. We do provide a telephone callback service that retains your place in the queue and saves patients holding on the phone. Thank you for your kind comments regarding the care you receive. We do take note of all feedback received and consider it when reviewing our service delivery.

Brilliant
They're brilliant. I've had a problem with my knee, went in and got an x-ray booked for two days later.

I couldn't get in to see them
I couldn't get in to see them for my medication, I then missed my taking it. I did have a telephone appointment but it was cancelled.

The nurses and HCA's work really hard. Covid is still used as an excuse, they should've caught up now.

Telephone appointments are bad, they don't paint the full picture.

It's fine apart from getting an appointment.
It's fine apart from getting an appointment. I have to wait in the queue, there were 30 people ahead of me. They've changed the system and it's worse. I'd rather do it online, especially with the school run.

Really helpful
They're really helpful and understanding and I can get an appointment quickly. I get on well with the receptionists and doctors.

The worst
Been a patient here for many years and it's got worse. Appointments are incredibly hard to get; you waste hours constantly calling back; receptionists decide who is and isn't seen despite their complete lack of any medical knowledge; despite it being 2024, you have to phone between 8-10am and even then you rudk being sent to walk in doctor; if you're 'lucky' enough to get an appointment, in person or by a call back, it is invariably with a nurse or or student doctor; there's no joined service an ... d they do not see the complete picture quick enough, something which is vital as early diagnosis prevents more serious issues developing and resultant personal and economic costs those missed opportunities create; complaints are not welcomed - they just encourage to leave.

I wondered what their purpose is - it's no wonder walk-in centres and A&E departments are creaking under the seams when GP practices like this won't help patients. This practice dismissed aspiration pneumonia as hayfever or viral and the delays their substandard service caused left me in serious danger and with potentially avoidable lung damage.

It was only the excellence of the Norfolk & Norwich Hospital that saved my life when I eventually presented to A&E in a state of near collapse. As an athletic, lifelong non-smoker this GPs catalogue of error and delay has had a devastating affect on my life.

Please do something about the telephones
The staff at the surgery are lovely helpful & friendly, however something needs to be done about the phone system. I have had to contact the surgery 3 times recently - 1st time, 1.

5hrs trying to actually get in a queue then a further 30 mins in a queue. 2nd time, 1hr trying then 45 mins queue.

3rd time, 1.5 hr trying then 1 hr in a queue.

How can it take that long??? Just to even get in the queue? I can understand the queue a bit as each call is different, some take longer than others. For
... the sake of mine & everyone elses sanity PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do something about this as the system in place does not work.

I am lucky - it is a very good surgery
I think they are friendly and caring. The Drs are really nice and helpful.

I am lucky - it is a very good surgery and I have been here for 55 years. One tiny little niggle - the website is I think provided by general NHS - I tried to check my appointment for reassurance I had the right date and time as I had not had my usual text reminder through but I couldn't check on the website.

The screen inside says I cant use it at Taverham but it wasn't a problem really.
