Help is there, whenever I need it
I've been here for three months. It's good here.

The food is good. I'm type two diabetic.

There is a good variety of food. The care here is good.

I wasn't feeling very well and they sorted out everything with the surgery and then with the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The people here are good.

Day to day, they make sure I'm alright. They always come in before breakfast to see if I'd like to go down to eat breakfast.

There is always a choice. It's very nice.

I like my food. I enjoy it.
... I like the activities. We play dominoes, that's good fun.

I do that every day. Sometimes young children come in to play.

I love to watch them have fun. I also join in with the knit and natter.

I like the plain knitting. I enjoy the company.

In here there is always someone to talk to. I love the company.

I worry that my blood sugars are low. I've been told to write it down, when the levels are low.

I think they are going to get a doctor to come and see me but I don't know when that will be. I want a doctor to talk to me directly, face to face, not talking to the staff.

They don't tell me anything. When you want washing done, you have to have a certain amount ready to wash, otherwise they don't wash them.

Sometimes I'm a bit short of clothes. Other than that, it's pretty good.

Help is there, whenever I need it.

Mum's being looked after well
Most importantly, mum seems happy here, she's comfortable. She was a bit unsure when she first came but she's accepted the fact she's here.

The home has a nice feeling about it. They care which is most important and nothing seems too much trouble for them.

They're helpful and they're always approachable, happy to answer our queries. Mum has had a hearing test here and they prescribed her hearing aids which she got there and then, she's also had a sight test here.

All in all we're pleased w
... ith Cranmer House. Mum talks well about the staff and knows most of their names.

I know she's being looked after well, she's safe here. We live out of the county and know we can call the home any time.

We can't call mum directly as she doesn't know how to answer and won't have her hearing aids in ready to talk. She also doesn't know how to make calls so it would be lovely if every now and then staff could ask her if she'd like to phone us.

However that's a very small thing and we never have to complain. The staff know us, they're friendly, warm and helpful.

Mum never moans about anything!

It's a happy place to be
All the helpers are lovely, they are very very nice. They take your laundry and you get it back in about a day and sometimes somebody's been kind enough to put them away for you! I was allowed to bring my recliner chair from home into my room which was nice as it was quite new.

I try to go to all the activities as they're very good, they're always interesting. I like the games and we're going to come down to watch the Grand National together - we've picked names out of a hat so it will be quit
... e exciting.

The exercises and things we do with Liam are marvellous. I've always been well looked after.

They had a dentist come round and I had four fillings right here which was great. When my family come to see me they make them very welcome, they bring drinks for them and the little ones.

When I came here my legs were in a terrible state and now they're so much better. It's the most marvellous place anybody could come to, I can't give it more than top, top marks.

I do wish I could have proper Heinz beans, soups and sauces though and I'd also love a bacon sandwich with HP brown sauce. I wouldn't mind if I had to pay a little bit extra for it so I could have it.

Sometimes you might not be madly keen on the two choices of meals but I eat what I can and make it up with fruit after. They did go back to the kitchen and get lemonade especially for me when I didn't want anything from the trolley.

They also changed the cup in my room from a little plastic one to a glass. I'd like a Pyrex one with a handle like I had at home, they've been good changing it to a glass but I will ask about this.

But it's not easy to suit everybody and they're very good, it's a happy place to be.

They are marvellous!
I lived here about a year. I came here from hospital.

My daughters come and see me all the time. They come when they can.

The people who work here are brilliant. They are lovely.

They are marvellous! They do anything that I ask; washing, dressing, if I want help I just ask. I go to the activity room.

We play cards, dominos, snakes and ladders. I try and join in.

The staff are marvellous. I do what I can.

I've always been independent. I like my room.

It's a corner one. I'm very luck
... y.

I've brought my own television and radio. I like Radio Norfolk! I enjoy my breakfast and the desserts are nice.

I'm not so keen on the other meals. I do think they are short staffed.

They can't help it, they are marvellous, and they do their best. But they need more staff.

If I want a shower then I can go down the corridor. They are marvellous, helping me to shower.

Recently I've been doing some knitting. I've knitted a square for a blanket.

The group is called knit and natter.

Welcoming staff
We have a good laugh with the staff, they make us welcome. They involve the residents in things, they don't just let them sit about. We can't fault the staff at all.

You wont find anywhere better
I can't fault it. The staff are friendly.

I've been here just over a year. They're a good lot.

It like it when Elvis comes to perform, and I enjoy knit and natter. I play the bingo, I like my bingo.

There aren't many days when I've got nothing on. It's lovely food, excellent, and if I don't fancy anything on the menu they'll alter if for you.

I get a lot of visitors. When I first came here the staff took my hand and made me feel welcome.

I prefer being here than having carers at home.
... We have a good laugh with the staff.

I can't see where you would find anywhere better. The tables are always set nicely and I like having a chat with the other residents and have lunch with them.

They've looked after me well
The change of coming here has been a bit of a struggle but they've looked after me well, especially Sarah and Tracey - I can't fault them. I had my own business and my own place before so I've had to adjust.

I'm OK now but at first it was difficult but they tolerated my moods. I'm not allowed out on my own but I can go with staff to do shopping and things.

Some of the residents moan but you have to accept you're in a home and you need to work with them. I like my room, I've got my own televi
... sion and they check on me in the night.

I found this strange at first but you get used to it. The food is pretty good, it's wholesome but then I've always been one to eat what I'm given.

I often get a glass of sherry from the bar downstairs! I did bingo but it's not really my thing but I've got plenty to do. There's lots of books if I want to read and we've got a budgie.

On the whole I think they're pretty good.

If it was crap I'd say so!

Staff are very good
The staff are very, very good. They're always available if I need them which is good.

I like my room, the staff helped me make it how I like it. The food is good, any food will do and my favourite is toad-in-the-hole.

The activities lady will ask me if I want to do Scrabble and I'll do it. I also like bingo and there's plenty to watch on TV.

In the summer we go out on trips to the seaside. I go to the resident meetings as well.

I would like to go on trips a bit more but I know the weathe
... r's not good.

I love it!
I love it, every bit of it! What can I say? Everything is good. All the people, all the staff are friendly.

Especially Yemi, he always has a big hug for me. They're always on the doorstep ready to help, we know them all really well.

If you treat everybody how you would want to be treated, that helps. I do Knit and Knatter and they bring a trolley round once a week where you can buy mostly anything like birthday cards and toothpaste.

The food is alright, it depends on the cook, but if I don
... 't like the meal choices I can always have soup. I couldn't take a single step when I came in here but within three weeks they got me on my feet with a frame.

I love my bed! The night staff come and kiss you goodnight, that means a lot.
