Many good staff, disappointing recent experience
I put on the online request that I'm not sleeping, I want a pain clinic referral and I've gained a lot of weight through medication. The doctor phoned and told me to give my sleep medication more of a chance even though it's been 8 weeks and I'm feeling terrible. She suggested paracetamol for my pain which is about as useless as a tube of Smarties and she knows I've got fibro. For my weight she told me to exercise even though I'm in pain, and when I said I couldn't she told me to go on a diet. S ... he didn't tell me I could get help from Slimming World, I found that out myself afterwards and signed up. I've got bowel conditions which make dieting difficult as some health foods upset my system but she didn't give any advice about that. I've been told I've got to wait another 8-12 weeks before going back about my pain. The notes on the NHS app don't line up with what she said, I think she's just trying to make herself look good.
The pharmacy are fantastic, I've never had a problem with them. I like Dr. Adeniran because he's got a great bedside manner. He's also really thorough and you don't feel rushed. Claude is a lovely bloke - he talks about 50 miles per hour but he's brilliant! The receptionists are always as helpful as they can be.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you have been feeling unsupported and frustrated, particularly whilst dealing with ongoing pain, poor sleep and concerns about your weight and overall wellbeing. We appreciate how difficult and exhausting these issues can be. As we are unable to discuss individual clinical care in detail on a public forum, we would encourage you to contact the surgery directly so that we can review your concerns fully, including the points you have raised regarding your consultation, treatment advice and the information recorded in your notes. Patient feedback, both positive and negative, is important to us and helps us continue to review and improve the care and support we provide. Regards M. Rolph, Business Manager

Need experienced doctors
It's so difficult to see a doctor, you see students who have to go off and speak to a proper doctor. I don't mind if they're young as it means their training is the most up-to-date but I do object to being seen by somebody who isn't fully qualified. You need to see someone with the experience to know it's not always what you tell them that matters, it's what you look like. You also need to have in-person appointments to do that, not over the phone. They need to see what your face looks like, do ... you have dark circles under your eyes?

Good usually but difficulties at the moment
I've been in four times in the last nine months about the same thing and I don't feel like it's being taken seriously. I went in five weeks ago about it again. They seem to use delaying tactics before they'll put a referral in. I also feel like they're blaming what I'm going through now on a separate long-term condition I have without looking into whether something else is going on.
They're usually pretty good, I've not had other problems with them as such although it's impossible to see a doc
... tor, you see a paramedic or physician's associate.

They listen
I came in to the surgery in crisis and I was taken to a private room. I'd been planning to seriously harm myself that day so I was grateful Kelly spoke to me. I've had appointments with her since too and they should give that nurse a gold star! I've also seen a doctor who listened to me about my preferred choice of medications. All the doctors have always been good.
The receptionists have always been nice and I've seen the Community Health workers although that has been a bit hit and miss. In g
... eneral there are people here I can talk to.

Wouldn't be at work without their support
I was having issues with my workplace which impacted my wellbeing. I got an appointment the day I phoned up in crisis. The surgery didn't just look after my physical health with medications, Dr. Rose connected me with all these other services. I had therapy from Talking Therapies and support from Working Well. Because of all this help I managed to stay in work and I wouldn't have been able to without it.
I'm no longer on medications and I'm managing to cope as I've got new ways to deal with thi
... ngs. I'm thinking about becoming a Mental Health First Aider for my workplace now.

Well done Watton
I'm really happy with this surgery. They got me in to hospital for a scan two weeks after I saw the doctor. I also saw Rosie as I was so stressed and Flo who helped me get a Blue Badge. I didn't know all this help existed, they did everything. Well done Watton!

It is impossible to get an appointment
The whole NHS system is vastly underfunded after 14 years of conservative rule. GP services in this country have deteriorated so much.
It is impossible to get an appointment, I have been here for three and half years and never had an in-person appointment, only had 2 telephone appointments.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that this has been your experience and understand how frustrating it can feel when you are trying to access care. All of our clinical staff do offer face to face appointments and the balance between telephone and face to face appointments is reviewed regularly to ensure patients can access care in the most appropriate way. On average for the GPs, 80% of our appointments are face to face, with around 20% provided by telephone. If you feel you need to be seen in person, our team will always try to arrange this where clinically appropriate. If you would like to discuss your experience further, please contact the surgery so we can look into this and help where possible. Regards, M. Rolph, Business Manager

The doctors take no notice of what you say and guess everything
The doctors take no notice of what you say and guess everything, no good experiences. You can't see the same doctor there is no join up of care. There is one doctor in particular who is outstanding but the wait to see them is too long and it's not worth the effort.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that this has been your experience and that you have felt unheard during your appointments, as this is not the standard of care we aim to provide. We always encourage patients to share their concerns and questions so they can be fully considered during consultations. While we cannot always guarantee appointments with a specific doctor, we do aim to provide continuity of care wherever possible. If you would like to discuss your experience further, please contact the practice so we can look into this and see how we can support you. Regards, M. Rolph, Business Manager

Brilliant surgery but young staff are very inexperienced
The receptionists are great. Unless you can get a doctor that's been there a while the junior doctors are quite junior, but they are trying their best. The surgery and receptionists are brilliant and will help you as much as they can. Getting an appointment is difficult and the young doctors are very inexperienced.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are really pleased to hear your kind comments about our reception team and the support they provide to patients. We are a training practice and support GP registrars as part of their training to become fully qualified GPs. These doctors are the next generation of GPs for the NHS and they work under the supervision and guidance of experienced training GPs to ensure patients continue to receive safe and high quality care. We appreciate your understanding and your feedback about appointments, which we continue to review as we work to improve access for our patients. Regards M. Rolph, Business Manager
